All of our products are unique to Femme Fatale Cosmetics. We do not repackage straight micas nor resell private label cosmetics under our own brand name. All of our products are formulated by hand, countless times before being released for sale to ensure our product meets our high standards. Although we’re a home based business all of our products are blended and packaged by hand in a sanitary environment free of smoke and pets. All of our equipment and packaging is cleaned prior to use with an alcohol based sanitiser to ensure we’re 100% hygienic.

Early 2013 has seen Femme Fatale Cosmetics expand from a mere artisan company producing hand crafted products, to a stockist of top national and international lacquer brands. We select the best products from the top brands and bring them directly to you in an easy one-stop-shop format, making it ten times easier for you to purchase quality indie lacquers with just one postage cost attached.

We check over all stock received not only for order discrepancies, but also for quality control. We include promotional material where possible in addition to carefully packing polishes to prevent against transit damages.

Please be aware that imported brand lacquers use different materials than those produce by us or other local brands. You may find settling of product to be more apparent, or thickness/smell of the lacquer base to vary. Customers may find that a brief shake, or a quick roll between the hands, of settled polishes will assist with dispensing the glitters through the base. Please check individual product listings for more information on specific base/materials.

We do not purchase ingredients from suppliers who are known to test on animals. As we’re a small independent business we do not have the financial resources to test our products on animals, and in addition to that we don’t require nor actually want to test our products on animals.

Our products are tested by willing human subjects (aka friends and myself!)

Our minerals are NOT 100% organic or plant derived, we use minerals that have been altered to include synthetic ingredients. However all of our products are safe to use in the specified manner (as you will see on each product page). None of our products contain Formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, Talc, Bismuth Oxychloride, Nanoparticles or Parabens. Our polish is also 3 free meaning it does not contain Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde or Toluene.

Our products are great for persons with sensitive skin, and we encourage you to research any ingredients you may have not heard about or used before. You can also contact us with your queries about our products. We provide full ingredient listings on both the product page as well as all of our labeling  We encourage customers using any of our products for the first time to do a test patch on their skin for allergies. Should you ever have a reaction to any of our products cease use immediately and seek medical advice.

We understand that many customers prefer to use vegan-friendly products, and because of this we strive to offer as many vegan-friendly products as possible. Unfortunately with limitations on available colourants to obtain bright pinks, purples and reds, we often use Carmine, which is pigment derived from insects.

We always clearly mark our products with ingredients, as well as if it is vegan or not. You will find this information on every product page as well as the labeling on our products.

We also now have an eye shadow category that will display vegan-friendly products, this is to make locating them much easier and quicker for you. Simply go to ‘Eyes’ and you will see a Vegan Friendly option under ‘View by Type’.

Please be assured we value consistency with all of our product packaging.

Products that come with sifters are packed to allow a bit of space between product and sifter. If packed too tightly the product cannot move about freely, and will not easily come through the sifter. Products that come without sifters are packed up to 4mm away from jar top (or lip of the jar) to ensure the product does not overflow and spill out once opened. All of our products are packed as such unless stated otherwise on a product’s listing. As always we recommend reading a product’s full listing, to ensure you are aware of all relating information to the product.

Our products are packaged by volume, not weight. In addition to this minerals weigh varying amounts, so the below measurements are a basic guideline.

Sample Sizes – 1/8tsp in a small zip lock baggie. Product can weigh anywhere from .20-.40g.

(Samples are sized to be a ‘tester product’, and contain enough for a couple of generous applications. We recommend sample purchases to test a shade, and suggest a mini or full size purchase for the shades you love.)

Mini Sizes – .70 to .90 grams in a 3g jar. Sifter is optional, but does not affect how much product you receive.

Full Sizes (Eye Shadow) – 1.20 to 1.50 grams in a 5g jar. Sifter not available.

Full Sizes (Blush, Illuminators) – 1.50 to 2.50 grams in a 10g jar with sifter.

Nail Polishes – Available in full size (12ml) unless stated otherwise. Brands other than Femme Fatale may come in other sizing, please check individual listings for more information.

Samples

We have a maximum purchase of 2 samples for each given product. This is NOT a limit of 2 samples per order. This is a limit of 2 samples per UNIQUE product per order.

When purchasing 2 samples of a unique shade you can request in your ‘order notes’ that we combine them into one baggie. We are not in a position to know the intentions you may have for your purchases (for example you could be purchasing a sample for yourself and a sample to give to a friend) and because of that we do not combine 2 samples of one shade into one baggie unless requested.

Mini & Full Sizing

We do not have limitations in place for how many mini or full sizes a customer can purchase. Please note that as our products are unavailable for resale Femme Fatale reserves the right to asses, cancel and refund orders of suspicious nature or size at our discretion.

Nail Polish

Polish is available to Australian based customers only via our website. International customers with polish in their cart will be unable to checkout. International customers please see our international distributors to locate a vendor near you. Many of our distributors ship worldwide.

We do not have limitations in place for the quantity purchase of polishes. Please note that as our products are unavailable for unauthorised resale Femme Fatale reserves the right to asses, cancel and refund orders of suspicious nature or size at our discretion.

Please be aware that postal transit damage CAN occur, we have no control over the handling of your package once it leaves our office. To ensure that we are able to send you a replacement package in the rare event that your order is damaged during transit, please purchase sufficient Extra Cover (parcel insurance) when you order from us.

We reuse packing materials where possible. 

Samples

Samples are packed into plastic zip lock baggies and come with full ingredient, safety and vegan information.

Mini & Full Sized Products

Mini Sizes have optional sifter (you choose when purchasing) but regardless of that we shrink seal our mini sizes. They come with full ingredient, safety and vegan information

Nail Polishes

Nail polishes are packaged extremely carefully for shipment, as the bottles are made from glass. We contain each polish bottle in zip lock baggies and individual wrappings of bubble or foam wrap to protect the product. Large of orders containing nail polish (10+ bottles) are shipped in a box with void fill. Orders with less than 10 bottles ship in a bubble mailer. We’ve now switched to new packaging (where applicable) using Oxo-Degradable mailers with less PE content making them more environmentally friendly. In addition that they offer all round padded protection with strong tamper evident seals, maximising the security of your goods in transit.

Please be aware that we do not accept ‘change of mind’ returns, which includes cancelling an order after shipment (which we do not allow).

If you have a product query or issue relating to a polish you have purchased from a STOCKIST you will need to direct your query to them. We do not accept returns nor offer compensation for products that are not purchased directly from us.
