We recommend applying thin, even coats of 2-3 leaving appropriate drying time between each layer; and finishing with a smoothing, glitter-suitable topcoat. Please be aware that both thermals and glow in the dark polishes have a limited shelf life (usually around 6-12 months) due to pigment deterioration over time. Thus we recommend you use your shade as much as possible, sooner than later, to enjoy the full transitional effects. Prolong their lifespan by keeping them well sealed in a cool, dark location.

(Caveat as I’m pretty sure I have a faulty bottle with the thermal not reacting correctly, but customer service has been very helpful in resolving this, thanks!).
The three stars is because Monarch is still a gorgeous polish in its own right, with or without the transition, and I can definitely see myself wearing it in future even after it dies completely. The iridescent flakies layer on beautifully and without issue, giving an ever-present orange sheen, and with the black irregular glitters it’s a very organic-looking thermal which was what drew me to it in the first place. It glows especially in low/indoor lighting situations.
If you ever wanted a true representation of a Monarch butterfly’s wing on the nail this would be for you.
