While the exterior may look plain and unassuming, stepping inside is an entirely different experience. Built to Leighton’s precise requirements to be a “private palace of art,” the home includes the breath-taking Arab Hall with its golden dome, intricate mosaics and walls lined with Islamic tiles. Leighton lived alone, occupying the home’s one small, bare, anonymous bedroom on the first floor.
