About the Le Pavillion d’Armide

The ballet tells the tale of a Gobelin tapestry of Armida, housed in a strange building on the grounds of the ancestral home of Marquis de Fierbois. It is said that after a brilliant career at the court of the Sun King, the beautiful Marquise Susanne de Fierbois’ soul has entered the tapestry portrait. A young count, betrothed to a lady of the chateau, decides to discover the secret of the pavilion of Armida.
When the pavilion is aglow with moonlight, Saturn (on an old clock) reverses his hour-glass. The clock opens to 12 boys, dressed in gold, who emerge from within. They perform the dance of hours before returning to their place. Then, distant, and strange music is heard… as if from the tapestry itself. The count is terrified and would try to run away, were it not for fear of being thought a coward.
The tapestry shines brighter, and the figures become more distinct. Armida appears in her enchanted garden, surrounded by ladies-inwaiting and her courtiers. She stands, and to the accompaniment of harps played by her slaves laments the absence of her beloved knight Rinaldo. Proceeding this are several dances, including Bacchus and his wild followers in a Bacchanale, a grotesque and frantic dance; and
the entry of the magicians, led by King Hydrao to a dance of the shades, ghosts that disappear again at the wave of a magic wand. Finally, dawn is breaking, leaving a final scene to pose the count a question about his dream, if that was what it was.

If you find this product has thicken we recommend using a professional grade polish THINNER (not remover!). All of our polishes are vegan, cruelty free and 10-free.

Application Guide

Apply quality base coat of choice (or pva glue/removable glitter base coat if you’re using a glitter). Make sure you apply the polish in thin, even coats across the nail allowing each layer to dry properly before applying the next. Remember to wrap the free edge (or tip) of the nail to encourage a reduction of shrinkage and longer wear without chipping.
Some of our sheer polishes are best suited for layering over a base colour – however most will be opaque in 2-3 coats. Once you have completed your application, seal with a quality glossy top coat for that water-smooth shine. We enjoy using Cirque Liquid Laminate, HK Girl or Seche Vite.
