Rising from humble beginnings to become a world renowned performer thanks to her breakthrough “Danse Sauvage” which was performed in little more than a skirt made of artificial bananas, Josephine Baker translated her renown into a fantastical life that included successful spy missions against the Nazis during WWII, strolling the streets of her adopted home in Paris with a diamond-collared cheetah at her side, adopting her self-described “rainbow tribe” 50 years before Brangelina, and being the only female speaker at MLK’s famous March on Washington.
Opening with a burst of sweet banana, its notes soon meld into the creaminess of tuberose and orchid. The fresh green of banana leaf and citrusy bergamot add a sparkling lift to the fragrance, while warm amber grounds it and adds depth. The perfect blend of opulence and a bit of cheeky fun!
